Love Apple TV! I have three of them and by far the best streaming device. This is a good price too.

Agree these are the best home streaming devices and yes it is a good price especially with the extra 10% prime discount today.

But note this isn’t the newest version, the 3rd gen (2022) version. There are not too many differences, but there are some, and they lowered the base price to $129, and I’ve seen for $124. So this deal is still cheaper by quite a bit, and from my experience with both, they both work fine for my needs.

I love BBC and Walmart. Although I just got this shipped directly to my door for $90 and now I don’t have to head to BBC. Worth the +$10 for me .YMMV depending on how much you like BBC.

Roku makes u keep that on file and I truly dislike it & they’re known to make products with intended life cycles. I’ve had perfectly fine roku TV’s (electronics don’t ware with time or get slower) end up just being unusable out of nowhere with the OS being a nightmare of slow, unresponsive nonsense (enough to get you to buy a new TV) saved with one of these $20 boxes .

Also talking Roku tv so different but they make you add your TV’s sources like streaming apps > >

I dislike both Roku and apple lol I go for Android builds but I’ve learned the world of customers really believes in apples false senses of security and think anything android is going to be brute force hacked by someone vs them getting attacked via web portal, app they think they trust, etc

I get more phishing emails about icloud account I don’t even own that anything else. The end of support/ end of life electronic stuff is really all just to push you more electronics. First off u can just install win 11 without tpm 2.0 but if u Google it it talk about security so you don’t even chance it. It’s corporate greed at it’s finest and the attitude of consumers honestly has me wanting to join the corporate crowd because they jump people with such passion for something they aren’t even completely educated on. They just parrot buzzwords not even understanding them. Id rather rip them off and that’s from a nerds stand point, ppl don’t want help they want to be right and my wallet is a ok with that. Next issue I have to fix I’m telling the person it is what they think it is and charging them extra for the work.

You don’t need Apple TV+ (the streaming service) to use the device. It runs all other streaming apps. But yes you have to pay separately.

Yes, you would have to subscribe to AppleTV+. This AppleTV 4K is the streaming device and doesn’t include AppleTV+ which is $6.99 a month.

I have been using my 2016 version consistently without problem. It has handled every upgrade to date. I am buying this one to upgrade my old one and placing the old one on another tv.

Certainly a solid deal even if similar deals on this 2021 version have happened in the past. Walmart seems to be a common deal provider on it.

Don’t be thinking you must subscribe to Apple’s video steaming service, “AppleTV+” to use this AppleTV device to stream your various streaming services. While ROKU and FireTV are cheaper and work OK, we’ve found both to be occasionally buggy. These AppleTV devices tend to be more reliable and the user interface is more elegant.

Things to consider - this 2021 version vs the 2022 version…

  1. Most users won’t notice a difference currently, between the 2021 and 2022 versions.

  2. Apple dropped the price and doubled the storage on the 2022 models (64GB vs 32GB). Average users are unlikely to have an issue either way.

  3. The list price of the 2022 64GB model is $129.

  4. The 2022 64 GB model does not have a gigabit lan port for hard wiring. You have to go to the 128 GB 2022 model for $149 (list) to get the gigabit lan port that this 2022 32 GB model has. Only matters if you do not plan to run Apple TV over WiFi.

  5. Finally, these devices eventually get sunsetted (retired) due to performance issues with the latest operating system. So having the latest model gets you more years of use. This 2021 model has an A12 cpu… vs an A15 cpu in the 2022 models.
