People really get cats and then want to eliminate any signs they have cats.

People get cats and discover cat litter is dusty and like to contain that dust as much as they can. And let’s not overlook how high and how far little Fluffnutter can kick out that litter when she’s covering a poop.
People get cats & choose the wrong litter.
All of these things can be true.
All of the cats I have owned have definitely preferred an open litter box situation and would probably be too scared/unwilling to use this one…but if it works for you and your cats, good. 
I do think some pet owners want the pets without the “bad” parts like @Lqtm said.
To each their own, but my money is on a cheap low height rubbermaid storage container
We call this the Poop Palace. There’s an opening on each end. Roscoe wanted privacy but Scooter couldn’t wait. People with cats come up with solutions. I don’t have litter all over my floor or pee on the wall.

The best setup I’ve seen was a friend in Hawaii who put her litter boxes on her screened in balcony and then made a cat door. If I didn’t fear that my cats would swan dive off the balcony, I would do something like that. LOL
Oh that would be great. I’m sure mine would remove the screen and let their friends in.

I like the one you have but when I needed mine they weren’t really making the big covered ones. I have a “single stall” like the one in this listing but it wasn’t big enough for both cats at the same time. Scooter will wait his turn if he has to, but now he has a little brother who will jump in with him. It’s all working out, but cats.

Lol, I was looking for an old toy box but I was pretty happy to find that.
I think it had been a games cabinet. There was a place where it looks like a table top would have folded out from it, but that was long gone.
Regarding the original product. Not a bad price if you can use that size. Here’s what it looks like with the front door down for cleaning. They don’t have a pic up in white, but you get the idea.
See what I mean about having a top opening for cleaning. I’m too old to be bending down every time & hurting my back to clean that.
A palace the size of your entire body where you can barely turn around. More like a poop dungeon.
You’re right. I’ve never crawled into the Poop Palace.
The cats have plenty of room inside to roll around, poop, cover the poop, spin circles, dig for gold, fight with each other, pee, not cover the pee, take toys inside, you know cat stuff.
Eliminate all signs of the cats elimination.
Some cats enjoy privacy.
In our case it keeps our dogs from snacking from the poo poo platter.
Everyone seems happy with the arrangement.
Love your inky. Here’s mine, but I couldn’t get her to go in it for the pic. I didn’t put the divider in. I would’ve had to use a much smaller litter box inside. We got used to using a large box with high sides when we had a boy cat that peed over the smaller boxes. He’s gone now, but we never switched back to the smaller boxes. It’s the perfect height for her to lay on & peek out the window at the neighbors.
She doesn’t seem to mind it & if she did we would get rid of it. Us humans have to adapt to their whims. It’s bigger than it looks in the 1st pic.
