With Affirm? Still a good deal even with 12 months of payments and some interest tacked on. Especially if it’s a gift for one of your grown kids, who might otherwise not have been able to afford one, especially for the price, as new and eligible for Apple Care. Bada Bing!
These are getting knocked down because Apple is getting ready to release the new iPads for 2024 any day now.
One of the new models is a 12.9” iPad Air with a M2 processor. I’d be willing to bet the new iPad Air will be this exact iPad with an M2 in it, since the iPad Pro line is moving to OLED displays.
My guess is that the new iPad Air 12.9 with cellular will be about $1k so this is still a good deal, especially for a new unit with an M1 chip in it. The current iPad Air with a smaller screen is $750, and the current iPad Air has an M1, so this is like getting an iPad Air with a bigger screen for $60 more.
I may pull the trigger on this one. I have a 2017 iPad Pro 12.9 with cellular and a 2020 iPad Pro 12.9 wi-fi only, so I might snag this to replace the 2017 one.
Edit: pulled the trigger and got one.
Did anyone else order this Ipad and are unable to activate the cellular on it. I got mine and Verizon is telling me it is sim locked and I cannot activate it until its unlocked from previous carrier.

Did you able to enable Verizon service? I am also thinking to buy it but cellular connection is must for me.
So this is a locked carrier device?
Can anyone who bought one or have one confirm whether this is a locked or unlocked device or if it I can activate it with Verizon 5G plan?

Mine was unlocked. I enabled it with an AT&T SIM and it works just fine.
It’s unlocked Verizon is a little odd you have to setup the connection through the iPad by logging into your account from there. If I tried going through Verizon and just give them the imei they would state it was locked and couldn’t activate once you go through the iPad itself to set up the connection it’s fine.
