Get a two pack for half this if you don’t mind a different brand. The charging standard is qi, but the magnet is excellent.

As the first picture shows, it can also be used as a shaving mirror

I purchased this from Apple and it has never worked correctly. I do not recommend this item.

I received mine a few days ago. I was noticing the spouse wasn’t futzing with their phone to plug in to charge & finally got my own.

I love it!

I found the magnet didn’t hold all that well and was finicky to charge…

But then I removed my case to charge. Magnet was strong & charge/connect immediately.

Yay!

Yeah you really need a case with MagSafe for it to work well. Otherwise, as you found out, the magnets are too far apart to really grab on.

Agreed. Got a 2 pack at Sam’s on an impulse buy a few months ago. They’re fantastic. Tech squared was the brand.

This response belongs in one of those @wootbot anything but the intended purposes thread!

To be clear, if you use these with a case the case must be MagSafe compatible. Otherwise, it might charge a bit, but the MagSafe design positions these properly and (I suspect) passes through charging induction a bit.

Depending upon the USB charger/adapter you use, the Apple MagSafe charger may charge at up to 15W, while other Qi (wireless) chargers may only charge at 5W or 7W. There is a difference.

So this is qi compatible but only works on iPhone/Apple devices?
Does it work for airpods?
Does it work for non-Apple devices like qi-enabled android phones?
Thanks!

Any MagSafe charger is Qi compatible with any Qi enabled device. It is a Qi pad with magnets. If you use the magnets, the charge speed will be 15 watts compared to the normal 7.5 watt Qi speed.

Yes, it works with any Qi device (albeit at a lower charging speed than the full 15W it can use with MagSafe devices).

It does work with AirPods and AirPods Pro as long as you have the Wireless Charging Case or MagSafe Charging Case for them. With the (pre-MagSafe) Wireless Charging Case, it will work as long as the case is positioned on top of it, but it won’t hold the case in the correct position on its own. With the newer MagSafe Charging Case, it will also hold it in the correct position.

I just received this. I checked on apple website to confirm if its real or fake. Website says it was sold in 2021 and warranty is expired. so the listing is incorrect. there is no apple coverage for this
