Almost worth it for the nostalgic novelty. Lightning cable! 5W charger!

“it connects via the Lightning to USB Cable and Apple 5W USB Power Adapter”…
The INCLUDED Lightning to USB Cable and Apple 5W USB Power Adapter, or my own? I am inferring it is included, but without that word “included” and with nothing noted in the Specs tab there is some ambiguity.
Thanks in advance for the clarification!
Was surprised to see one of our local Apple Stores is still using these original slow watch chargers at the “Genius” tables.
If you have a Series 7 or later, any Ultra, or an SE3, you will be disappointed by the charge speed of this model.
Since many folks strive to wear their Apple Watches as close to 24 hours a day as possible - for sleep and health tracking - the charge speed very much matters. Unlike a phone where you can let it sit charging at any speed while you sleep.
The difference tends to be 45-60 minutes vs 120-150 minutes.
Unless you have two like I do. Getting an Apple Certified Refurb S8 SS from Woot to complement my S9 (with battery health going down to 95%) allows me to swap out during the day, and (due to the Sleep measurement limitation to one Watch) using the S9 at night. Battery Health on both has remained static over 18 months.
Saying this because I still have the old USB-A slow charger from my S6, sitting in an Elago Mac Classic stand. It’s fine for holding a watch for however many hours while I wear the other. (Runs cooler, too, which may be kinder to the battery within.
) There’s still a use case for the “slow” chargers. But … though these are nice, $20 for an outdated Watch charger is a plus/minus decision. If you only have one charger without any stand for Nightstand Mode display, this fits the bill.
But you can get an Elago nostalgia stand (Mac Classic, iMac, Gameboy, etc.) for your regular charger for roughly 70% of this price.
I still can’t find if this came with a wall wart (old 5W charger) and USB-A to Lightning cable, or you had to provide your own. Not a bad deal if it comes with all three, but IMHO $20 is a bit much for an old style charger. These were nice in 2015, but 10 years later they’re left in the dust by more capable chargers.
I received mine earlier today - it was brand new and still in the plastic. For someone like me, who sporadically wears my watch and mostly only when leaving the house, the charging speed doesn’t matter as much. If it was really important to me, I’d be buying a watch that was newer than a Series 8 to begin with that this dock wouldn’t even support, since series 10 and higher charge in almost half the time. This is absolutely perfect for a slow drip charge while you charge it at night.
It did come with its own USB-A to Lightning Cable, but you need to supply your own block.
Interesting - so the Apple Watch management process makes two watches feel like one - full seamless integration, health, etc… like you have one watch… except for Sleep Tracking? Odd.
I don’t find the 45 minutes or less fast charging to be an issue, And I have a charger in the car and a portable battery bank watch charger.
Heat and draining to zero are battery enemies. So never sit in the sun with the watch exposed, or leave it in a hot car.
Batteries also time-wear out, so having two might not be so durable.
The battery in my Series 7 Cellular (with cellular activated) lasted almost three years before falling below 80% where it was definitely noticeable. That’s wearing it 100% of the time, except for showering/charging. Apple’s $99 “battery replacement” service (only usable when Battery Health falls below 80%) actually got me a brand new Series 7. So if I get another 2-3 years out of it, I’ll be be content.
