While I love this watch, optical heard rate sensors on the wrist have their limitations. When they are slow to pick up on your pulse change (sometime 5+ minutes to notice I’ve been running on a treadmill) it affects everything from active minutes to calories burned.
That’s my only complaint, and it can be remedied with an external chest strap heart beat sensor that is sold separately by Garmin.
Other notes:
I enjoy the blacks and white display. I think this keeps the battery life up as well (5-7 days before charging without using gps).
Most sensors are pretty accurate:
The thing is tough. That’s the primary reason I bought it.
Does great counting sets at the gym with a single button press. It automatically guesses the exercise your doing, with comical results. Luckily, it’s easy to change in the app.
Notifications for calls and messages work great.
It does not play music or answer calls (no speaker in watch), but allows you to answer your phone via the watch and you can control the playlist on your phine (play, stop, next), i believe.
The GPS track me feature is nice if you like to cut your own trail.
Compass is dependable.
Alarm is the same annoying alarm every times from the 90’s has.
Wristband is comfortable enough and stays secure.
Customer service is good. I complained about the heart rate sensor (mentioned in the previous comment) and they sent me a new watch. Still had the same optical sensor problems that apparently all optical heart rate sensors have.
Also, it’s a great deal at this price.
How much were they going for?
