(NEW) HTC Vive Pro Focus Plus 6DOF VR Headset Bundle

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend ordering this product as it doesn’t seem able to ship and customer service brushed me off with a canned response to my inquiry.

This is a standalone headset made by HTC. It does not play anything Quest related as that is completely different store. It also does not support plugging into a PC and using as a tether headset passing through the signal to the HMD. It does not require base stations as it is all in one and uses inside out tracking like the quest does. Outside in tracking is when you use the base stations and the headset that is either tethered or not.
This is an old headset at this point and actually has been updated twice. The current iteration is the Vive Focus 3. These are mainly made for industrial application as well as any kind of training scenarios that call for a free roam headset. The new version is also used very heavily by laser tag, arenas and LBE (location-based entertainment) venues such as VR arcades. However, you will not see one of these in a current arcade as it is extremely outdated.
You are much better off getting a Quest 2 from the pawn shop for less than $200 than purchasing this.
It also has to access It’s stuff through the Vive store which is a hot pile of garbage and now just instituted a mandatory one year commitment regardless of whether you want it or not. Which I think is possibly illegal but I haven’t found the time to examine it.
So in short, don’t buy this headset. Go to the pawn shop and get a Quest 2, hopefully with the elite strap because it’s really required to make that headset what it should have been out of the box.
If money is not an issue, get a Quest 3. You’ll love it. And if you are developer and need to be able to have a headset on all day long or have a specific reason to need eye tracking and face tracking, then get the Quest Pro.
Otherwise steer clear this.

I got mine from a pawn shop. And I agree except I don’t have the elite, but I am old and get tired before the battery wears down anyway. I am lucky I have not broken a hip yet

This a mobile CPU that is 7 generations behind that is all I needed to know.

For anyone who got this. You won’t be able to use it with your PC… I just spent a long process with viveport talking with them. Apparently I received one with the ROM for the China market. Which isn’t supported outside of China and cannot connect to my PC at all.

If you’re not happy with it, contact CS. Here’s the blurb.

Yes, I am aware. I have also started the process, but wanted to let anyone else who is in the same boat know as well. Because Viveport takes a long time to respond and then you have to jump through all kinds of hoops, and if you don’t know a ton about tech like I do, they make it seem like its a problem entirely on your end and nothing wrong with the headset itself.
