Is there any appreciable sound limitation of buying two of these and using them as R and L speakers for my turntable, just simple stereo sound?
As far as sound quality, these could easily perform just fine if you bought a pair for stereo use. Paired with a decent amplifier/receiver, these are a very good speaker (excellent at this price), and reasonably capable for both music and home theatre duty.
For many speakers, I would hesitate to recommend rotating them, or using them for different purposes than the design, but these share so much of their driver components and crossover design with the other models in the S (Studio) series, that it shouldn’t actually make a difference. The only weirdness will be the small feet that are built into these ones, which could look a little strange if rotated on end.
