Do not buy this! It’s a terrible system with too many flaws and it’s also discontinued by Leap Frog. You’ve been warned.

Can it be modded to run Doom tho
yes but dunno where to find a guide, apparently the hardware is good enough to emulate some early consoles but there hasnt been much homebrew activity for it (that i can find)
can it run linux?
BRO THIS WAS MY CHILDHOOD ![]()
I got excited when I saw this. I have four grandkids aged 3-10 and I love getting them fun, educational toys, especially ones that get them off the couch. But after reading the warnings here and especially the reviews on Amazon, I didn’t walk - I ran away clutching my money!
I have no idea, I read it was an ARM CPU, but that’s about it. I couldn’t find any resources on softmodding/hacking it.
We had one until the kids outgrew it (they also had the handheld systems). Both played the Doodlecraft game quite a bit. And the Leap Racing game was a pretty neat Mario Kart clone with some math problems baked into it. It wasn’t as bad as some of the reviews make it sound… but it did have flaws.
Some of the games required the use of the camera (you had to move your arms certain ways, etc). The camera is awful. You can have every light on in the living room and it will still be too dark to use it properly. They ended up avoiding those games completely.
I’m gonna bite since I can no longer withstand our daughter watching scribby toilet. Hope this gets her away from that bad influential game.
This was hard for our toddler. It picks me up no problem. Toddler it a bit to small for the camera currently. Now, only coming complete with one game out of the box was a let down. I’ve seen Nintendo emulators with lots more choices for the same well Pre-owned for less than cost for leap frog console. I don’t know how much the cost of additional game/apps from leap frog are since our toddler has already lost interest in the free pet game and walked away from it. I thought this came complete with a decent amount of pre-loaded content.
Update*
Additional apps/games appear to be $7.50+ some have several within purchase price for $20+.
If I keep this I can see it costing well over $100 in a few months. We have a wii and its content is far superior to this (New) console.
Many games shown within contents received as well ads on device are either no longer supported or available to purchase. Specifically Spiderman which made our toddler upset in return disappointed parents.
