MagSafe is a gimmick to sell something you don’t need. I change my iPhone that has a clear silicon case) in an ordinary stand up charger (the phone is not held by a magnet) and it charges fine overnight. Plus it also charges my Apple watch and Ear Pods.

I like using magsafe to hold my phone in the car. I also use a normal wireless charger for my samsung next to the bed, but if its not ‘just so’ it could stop charging. Incase I bump the table or if my pillow pushing up against things on the table. Having it magnetically bound to be in the right spot is kind of nifty. Sure theres plenty of other ways to do it but with the steep decline in human IQ [Read: sheer cliff-face] things need to be as simple as possible for people.
I got this a few days ago - and to be honest it doesn’t feel like it’s an Apple product. It doesn’t charge half the time and the other times it charges but then somehow disconnects. We have another MagSafe that we bought from Apple that just works better.
The price was too good to be true I guess. This is the first Apple product we have been unhappy with and we as a family prob have like dozens of items.
We order from woot all the time probably a couple times a week but this feels like a fail.
