I’m not going to look, but I wonder if they even sell cassette tapes anymore. If I got this, this would be the only thing I have that I know to be working that could play them. My old stereo system has been packed up for a while. And none of my cars can play them.

I have the same temptation.
I have two stereos that have tape decks, but they won’t play any of the tapes I have lying around. (Then again, these are like 50 year old cassettes; the magnetic strips might just be gone.)
