I find that with Wyze that’s usually the case.
They make cheap cool devices but don’t expect much more than you pay for them.
I’ve got one of these. No issues and does what it’s supposed to.
I have 3 of these that I bought from mother ship
No complains they work great. This is a great price!
I’ve got 5 Wyze cams, although not this one, yet. 2 first gen small, basic cams, 2 latest gen basic cams, and 1 first gen PT cam. They have all worked flawlessly since I installed them. If I had a need for another I would be all over this one. Just be sure to keep up on the firmware updates and make sure your wifi is working well.
I guess the point of this post is, while most of the time you get what you pay for, every once in a while you get a bit more.
Anyone have any idea how the lights work? I’m assuming you need to provide constant power and the lights are only controlled by motion. No way to control lights independently of camera with a switch. Wife hates motion sensor lights because she likes to look at the stars when walking into the house.
Pair it with the Wyze smart switch. Then it can control the floodlights.
You can control it through the app, not real conveniently i might add, but it is doable. You can also set it to only nighttime
I have one of these to view my parking area. I paid twice this price. It has worked perfectly for about a year and a half now. I also have Wyze cameras monitoring front yard, back yard, garage, and charging areas for electric scooter and bikes. Also Wyze deadbolt, color lights, and scale.
Everything has worked perfectly. Incredible value for the price.
Some brands give you what you need for less money. Sometimes the products have less extras that you wouldn’t use anyway, sometimes they are the same Chinese product as a more expensive brand. Oversimplifications are for oversimpletons.
It all depends what your expectations are.
