1.8GAL? Oh man that is tiny!

Perfect for a small bathroom trash can. Toilet paper rolls don’t take up a lot of space.

Might be overkill for a bathroom; however, if you have a modern style bathroom, this would fit well. I think it’s great for a guest bathroom. My only issue is the need for batteries, even a stack of rechargeable AA batteries gets annoying to change

Is the sensor fast enough to open the lid to catch what you’re throwing into the trash from across the room?

Perfect laundry room lint can.

As stated, they do require batteries. However, in the 2 to 3 years since purchasing a couple from here, I’ve only had to replace them 3 or 4 times. I highly recommend these, even with the 60% price increase from the $8 I originally paid.

Never have I ever used “excitement” and “trash can” in the same sentence.

I have a question. Now, everyone be nice please. I’m being very vulnerable here. Would this work for kitchen compost? No smell, no fruit fly solution for collecting compostable before taking to the outside bin?

I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. It’s got a good fitting lid and the tub is washable. For $13 I think it would be worth a try. If it doesn’t work out you could wash it and use it for something else.
