“jump starter for 12-volt batteries in vehicles up to 10.0-liters gasoline” A 10 liter tank is like 2.5 gallons.
This is engine size, not Tank capacity for those wondering.
10 liters refers to engine displacement, not gas tank capacity.
Most sedans and small passenger cars have engines under 2.5 liters. This device might not work for larger SUVs and pickups.
This will have no trouble with larger SUVs and pickup trucks. I’ve started a diesel combine without a battery with it’s smaller sibling. In January.
I was just going off the manufacturers claims.
Good to hear from someone with first hand experience.
I can’t think of any passenger vehicle in the past 50 years with a gas engine exceeding 10 liters (610 cu.in.). Fuel economy would probably be measured in gallons per mile.
The only gas engines in excess of 10L that comes to my mind are Hall Scott engines, which were used in buses and heavy duty trucks up until 1960.
It has been my experience that manufacturers often exaggerate their claims or at best push them to the limit of real world expectations. I’ve used similar jump start devices that have not worked on larger engines. If the product truly meets the manufacturers claims, then you are quite right, this should work on practically any ICE engine produced today.
But, I guess I’m a little cynical?
That’s fair, what with lots of questionable products from alphabet soup “brands” out there. Noco isn’t one of those, though. Project Farm tested this very model a couple months ago and it was only one of two that could start a diesel unassisted.
If project farm says it’s good, I believe it. Love that guy!
NOCO is a well known brand in the automotive industry. This 155X model of jump starter can seriously jump start a dead Semi Truck. Its kinda big though if you don’t have a heavy duty pickup truck or big SUV with a V8 or diesel.
