Search for online codes. NewEgg had a deal for 48 for 2 years. Anything under 30 a year is not bad
They have a feature called obfuscated servers that should give you better results, and it does not cost extra. Basically they route it in a way that still uses a VPN without making it obvious.

I am a repeat Nord subscriber/user. There used to be noticeable issues with the VPN impacting network speed, but recently they have been upgrading a lot of their stuff to fiber so now the drop can barely be felt. I would recommend.
