Hmmm.
I currently have avast free on a family members laptop that I maintain. is this worth the $20 for 1 year over a free product? I haven’t used norton since the early 2ks when it was full of resource hogging bloat. I realize that $20 is a lot cheaper than the current 1yr sub for norton on their site, but I’m more wondering what benefits there would be over the free avast I currently have installed. the cloud back up doesn’t interest me for her laptop, but VPN might. is the AV protection any better than avast? is the VPN any good? how is performance, is it still a resource hog? is is still full of bloat?
Also, is there a free tier for after the 1 year sub expires? will I still be able to use it if I decide not to renew?
