Bought some of these last time, they’re not as easy to assemble as Birdie’s beds, they use an extra hardware component. I also think the instructions say not to use power tools, but my drill did no damage when used on a clutch setting (DeWalt clutch 11) with a box wrench hold back. The real question will be do they hold up as well as the original they copied and I can’t answer that absolutely but I can speculate:
I do not think these will last the multiple decades that Birdie’s beds have because of that extra piece of hardware being a washer, which is usually needed to protect the surface of the item being bolted together from that rotational action at the fastner. This is only speculative however, but it indicates a more “delicate” surface galvanization rather than a deep plating.
That said, they’re also cheaper, and I do think these will last 15 years, maybe 20, (right around their claim) and their customer support is very responsive.
TL;DR at Woot prices these are very worth it, and comparable to the item they knocked off, we gave em a chance and I’d say they’re decent after owning them six months.
