Olle Galvanized 17" Raised Garden Bed

Olle Galvanized 17" Raised Garden Bed

Wow…$20 price drop. I bought 4 of these this summer, 2 of them just recently from open box which i havnt received yet. I paid $150 for each. Wish i would have waited for this sale and saved $80…

What dimension of the corner is 24" per this image? According to this image, a circle made up of 4 corners would have a diameter of 24". Meaning the circumference is about 75", and each corner piece is about 19". The only way I can come up with getting a corner piece to measure 24" given the rest of the dimensions is if you draw a right angle from the center of the circle and add the radius to each edge of the corner together… but that seems fishy.

Here’s an image you can zoom in on to read the dimensions:

I think that they are trying to indicate that the corners put together will make a 24" diameter. It’s dumb, but you can’t expect the world from Chinese knockoffs of the originals (birdies garden beds) that are made in Australia by Australians.

That is not just dumb, it is misleading and wrong. I’m pretty sure the image @ThunderThighs linked is the one that usefully describes dimensions, and the other image probably accurately describes the counts of parts… so there is enough information to both know what you’re getting and to know that the documentation is incorrect.

Funny how next year I wanted to convert my potted garden into a raised bed because I felt my veggies could thrive more outside of a pot and in the ground. This will work perfect and pretty colors to choose from. :ok_hand:

I’m sorry but my mathy bits aren’t working this morning. I don’t understand what’s incorrect.

You should ask for a match. Use the customer service option and ask; costs you 3 minutes of your time and the worst outcome for you would be they say “sorry but we can’t”. I’ll bet they’ll take care of you.

This image states that there are 4 corner pieces that are 24". The length of the arc that each corner covers is 19"… 19 != 24.

Not a huge deal, but also not correct.

Ah, will try.

For those of u thinking about these, they r great. Lots of assembly with all the bolts. But i have 3 from another vendor going on 3rd year. The 4 i got or will b getting, very similar. Love that u can get creative with setups that suit ur surroundings. We did both soaker hose and pvc tubular watering (about 1.5 ft above the dirt n the bed). I recommend the pvc approach or something similar. Do ur best to fill the beds with the right dirt from the beginning. U will b glad u did l8tr, yr over yr. Less bending, less critters…luv these!

The Olle site says 24". We go by what they say.

Not that anyone cares very much, but I reached out to Olle on their website and they were very responsive:

  • Ollegardens - Thanks for your message! We’ll be with you as soon as we can. If you prefer not to wait, we’ll follow up via the contact info you provided.

  • You - Hi Ollegardens, I’d like to point out that your product description cannot be correct.

2:50 PM

  • You - The corner pieces cannot be 24".
  • You - because you put 2 of them together to make an arc with a 24" diameter.

2:51 PM

  • You - This means that the pieces are, approximately 1/4 of a circle with diameter 24"… meaning that the length of the corner piece is approximately 19"

2:52 PM

  • Ollegardens - Thanks for your feeback , the radius is 24" not diameter.

2:58 PM

  • You - How is that possible. Option 3 shows that the diameter of 2 corners is 24"

3:25 PM

  • You - (Also, Options 6, 9, 10, and 11)

3:26 PM

  • Ollegardens - Thanks, your feedback is important, we will check and make adjustments.

3:31 PM

  • Ollegardens - Hello, i have check the size . the size is correct. The diameter is 24". The radius is 12". Please check the picture below.

3:48 PM

  • Ollegardens - Attached image

3:49 PM

  • You - That is my understanding as well… Which means that a corner, which is 1/4 of the circle really can’t be called 24" it should be 19"
  • You - Nice diagram though!

3:54 PM

  • You - The issue is the “What’s In the Kit” image that says ’ 4 pcs Corners 24" ’
  • You - I truly appreciate your responses. Thanks!

4:02 PM

  • Ollegardens - Attached image

  • Ollegardens - Yes, the arc length is about 19" but the when we configurae to harden bed the length is 12" not 19". But our description is not very clear. thanks for your feedback, we will try to modify to make more clear, thanks.

8:50 PM

  • Ollegardens - so about option 3, the length : 12+20+12= 44" Hope I have made myself clear, and please let us know if you have any other question. Thanks so much.

Now my head hurts. Passed all this on to our buyer to see what/if he needs to do anything.

I dunno, the ollle customer chat tried to explain it well, that the corner pieces make a 24" diameter and that’s why they’re called 24" corners. Even drew a picture.

I think it’s not very confusing, since this is industry standard. Birdies in AU has a 38" diameter round kit and they call the pieces in the manual 38" round pieces, because that’s what they make. If every customer went on about how each of the five pieces wasn’t a literally 38" in circumference round piece I feel like they would have updated their terminology.

You’ve done above and beyond your duty :+1:
