Does not require electricity
+1 for cat life’s
Does it use regular litter or can it handle pine pellets?
This seems like more of a pain than just scooping.
Roll it on its side then back again. Pull out the “scoop” and empty in a single scoop. Couldn’t be any easier. Had one of these back when I had a single cat and loved it. Thinking of grabbing one to put down in the basement for one that likes sleeping down there.
It was very easy, and most importantly, it was too heavy for my dog to drag around and sneak “treats” from. Rolled easily for me, I used normal clumping litter.
How’s the smell? I heard these closed ones are unattractive to cats.
Needs to be clumping litter to really work correctly. It basically filters the clumps and chunks that don’t fit through the slotted screen and you continue rolling the entire box until those clumps roll to the drawer slot. Then you roll it back the opposite away, the loose litter flows back through the slots to fill that bottom again.
They worked pretty well and are quick and easy.
The negatives I can think of from having a couple over the years:
Maybe could be a little too awkward/heavy for smaller people if using heavy litter?
You have to make sure you don’t overfill with litter as the filtered reservoir can only fit so much so if there is more it rolls with the clumps.
The folded plastic section that is important for the filtering can sometimes fall out, or get loose, or eventually breaks at the seams, which can be annoying and eventually causes it not to work.
You need space to be able to roll the entire box so might not be reasonable if you have your litter box in a small room or area without enough room.
The orice is $41.99 - 30 %= $29.40 with return and warrenty
Huh?
I haz toilet already.
Not that I’m a cat, y’know.
I need one of these. One of my three cats likes to sh!t in the bathroom sink. Maybe this will dissuade her…
I like the idea, but even if I had trained my cat, at 16 years old there’s no way she’s jumping up onto the toilet.
I’ve had cats that preferred open pans and/or larger enclosed boxes when given options, but none of them have refused to use enclosed boxes when that’s all they’ve got.
Hopefully this poops up again for sale
This is a terrible design and a waste of money. It gets litter everywhere, and our clumping litter makes clumps too big for the waste drawer.
