We bought this exact model a bit back and have used it without a problem for a few months. In Wisconsin, I think we pay $3.xx per month. It has never disconnected, and 911 is linked to our address. It does not need a computer to be on to run, and we love it. If you’re thinking about it, know that we are among the very happy with this product. (I may even buy one for my mother - that’s how easy it is to use)
Picked one up last time it was on Woot - LOVE IT. My number was ported in 8 days and no more phone bill (except 3 bucks a month for taxes).
One caveat: If you have a few auxiliary cordless phones that feed off one base, you may get some static unless they’re DECT (the base won’t have static, just the auxiliary phones).
I use Skype as my home phone, would this be suggested over Skype?
I don’t have a lot of money and Skype is so cheap compared to standard phone service, but some of the downsides nag at the back of my mind. Lack of 911 is one of the big ones.
In the long run, this seems like the better deal, but I like hearing from others.
Edit: Guy above me likes it over Skype. Good to know
Anyone else? And any reasons why that I might not have thought of?

You can also take it with you on vacation plug internet into it then into the Hotel Phone and you have you HOME phone anyplace.
Got this in similar Woot deal 6 months ago, it is GREAT - easy switch from Ver1z0n, ported number, costs <4 month - always works and once you set it up you never think about it again.
