Cat 8 is pointless for home use. Cat 7 is a joke. If you need a cable buy cat 5e, 6, or 6a.

On the real real though, I get 10gbe over copper with cat6a 7 & 8…. Unless you have some crazy magnetic resonance in your house 8 is not needed for those speeds…. Also advertised as ‘outdoor’ but if you put nylon coated cables outside you are gonna have a bad time. If you only need 1-2 to have fun with this isn’t a horrid price, but monoprice cables will do you just fine if you don’t mind paying less for the cable but also some shipping on top
These aren’t worth it. They’re not even reaching Cat 5 speeds according to the real, not faked, reviews.
This item is a scam and is not cat 8.
You can buy real Cat 8 that’s actually shielded and can reach up to 40 Gbps for around $10-15.
having cat 8 is great for moving large files between a nas or two computers/home server, video editing, etc. If you had a nas, server, etc, using a cat 8 linked to two devices upgraded with a $50 eBay nic’s is a great way to provide super fast transfers.

Don’t buy this. Pre terminated cables are scam, buy a roll. Cat 7 and 8 are scams. Company that makes this product is a scam.

FWIW, I purchased qty. (3) of this item (3 ft. lengths) in 2023 to connect modem to router, router to main desktop pc, and router to NAS. I noticed a reduction in latency and a speed increase for large file transfers. I’m not a fan of flat cables but am definitely very pleased with the benefits I received from my small expenditure for these. The ones I purchased are currently selling for $5.59. Good reviews.
