Waterproof?
Sorry, not waterproof.
I will throw out my 2 cents since I do quite a bit of outdoors stuffs and tested lots of gear.
This pack is pretty good for what it has to offer. The AG Suspension system is one of the better ones out there to keep the pack off your back to help prevent the back sweat issue. It is also very durable.
Most packs are not really waterproof and usually require a pack cover to go along with using a pack liner inside to assist if keeping your gear dry. I use a trash compactor bag since their durability to weight ratio is the best considering the cost.
I have seen this same pack get Appalachian Trail “Thru” Hikers the entire 2100 (±) miles and with minor issues. Most will say at the end, I should have gone with a lighter pack.
Having said all that, overall the bag is pretty good, but for me, is a little heavy.
This bag would be good for a weekend trip if you are carrying a decent amount of gear.
When you choose a pack, consider the amount of gear you are carrying and the distance carried. You will most likely end up with several backpacks for different scenarios. I found that a 50L bag around the 2lb. weight category, carrying at the most 30lbs of gear including water and food, gave me the best overall experience when trying to conquer large daily distances. But again, it all depends on your excursion.
