I too am waiting for some feedback. This is what I have found so far. https://www.rei.com/product/131132/otterbox-trooper-lt-30-cooler

Thanks!

Bought it for a loooong road trip in the minivan with the kids. Have not used it yet for its intended purpose. But Opening and closing it does take some learning. Interior space accurate, liner inside is soft sided over a thick molded material. I like the way it stays open with a very wide but tall opening. I’m not planning a rugged outdoor adventure. So my usage is not typical I guess. The backpack straps and carrying strap are a cool design where the slack of the strap allows it to either be carried like a backpack or like a shoulder bag. The unique opening latch helps hold the straps in place when closed and allows adjustment when open. Like the opening latch mechanism it takes some getting used to. The backpack doesn’t seem geared for long carrying but seems pretty rugged. The interior sacrifices some height when the opening latch mechanism is fully folded and closed but seems about 30qt as advertised. Outside seems rugged. interiror has not.been jabbed with items yet but seems tougher than a typical soft sided cooler interior. Ask any questions… I will try and answer them.

Still doesn’t say what the can: ice pound ratio is. Can’t seem to find that anywhere. Most of these roto tyoe coolers make that clear.

I like the fact that the exterior dimensions are smaller than my Venture 25, but the capacity is slightly larger. Solidly built, takes practice to learn how to open. Beyond a doubt worth the woot price.

Hi! What are the chances Hazy Harbor comes back in stock during this sale? Thanks!

Thanks!.. What the heck I’m gonna go for it… :joy:

they’ll probably never present that info. rotationally molded coolers pride themselves in their ice retention as they are specifically designed to outperform standard coolers. this isn’t one of those so compromises have to be made with insulation to be soft sided. cheers!

Great cooler and fits alot for a soft sided cooler. It’s no rotomold and won’t hold ice nearly as long. It’s competition is the soft sided coolers by yeti and rtic, and out of them otterbox wins for these reasons… Wider opening and easier to get into. If you look at the yeti backpack it’s narrow and has a zipper, it’s more difficult to get things at the bottom and find things, and the zipper is a pain when youre going in and out of a cooler all day.

As others have said the latch system takes a few times to get used to, but when you do wow it’s way easier to get in and out than the yeti or rtic. The build quality is right there with the competition and it’s super durable… Oh and I youtubed leak test and out of the soft sided otterbox didn’t leak at all… Yeti and rtic did. For this price point it’s a no brainer. Hope this helps!
