So, I should order the size kit, wait for it to arrive, and then come back to Woot to order?
Oh goody, another annoying subscription based health tracking device. Pass.
I still have a 1st generation Halo in the box- never opened after hearing how creepy that was…
Amazon Halo fitness band, that is.
You may be eligible? I thought these type of health accounts were pretty cut and dry about what you can and can’t use them for.
“ HSA/FSA Compatibility: You may be eligible for reimbursement on your Oura Ring purchase. You can submit your confirmation email to ”
Wrap a string around your finger, mark it, remove it and messure with ruler
This doesn’t seem like much of a deal
For real. Why would I pay $375 for a refurb of something that is $299 new?
Edit: I guess gold prices were showing for a bit even though I had Black selected. There is a slight discount for the refurb, but with that small difference I would still spend the $40 and get it new.
So this is a ring that does the same thing as many smart watches, but without the screen so you can’t see who is calling or texting you, but at a more expensive price and requires a subscription? I think that is a hard pass for me, I will stay with my Fitbit Versa series which can do all this ring can do, and a lot more, but costs less and doesn’t require a subscription.
I have had an Oura Gen2 for 18 months.
Good:
-
Only needs to charge for a few minutes per week. If you charge when you’re in the shower once or twice weekly you’ll have data for all other times. That means I get daily activity and sleep data from the same device which I’ve never been able to do from the smartwatches since they need to be charged more often.
-
Ring is sturdy, light and easy to wear. I usually don’t remember I’m wearing it
-
Sync is painless
-
App is polished and featureful
Bad:
- Next to useless without the app subscription. Disappointing to pay this much for a device and have Oura taking that large a cut on the back-end too
I’ve learned a lot about my sleep patterns and daily activities since I started wearing the ring.
Overall I’m extremely satisfied with the product, but I do feel like I’m paying too much.
Don’t know about others but I don’t want to wear a watch 24x7… especially when sleeping. Also the ring measures more things and is probably more accurate than any watch since it’s pretty snug around a finger
This is a good product which provides many valuable insights. I already have a smart watch but got this as well because its way more advanced. Smartwatch is good for activity tracking. The ring tracks body temperature, stress, heart health, sleep, breathing and so much more
With that said I wouldn’t buy this without using a sizing kit first. The size I ended up getting is 2-3 higher than my wedding ring
I agree. However I bought the wrong size even after using the sizing kit. I should have worn the plastic sizer ring for longer, I guess. Oura had me buy another ring of the correct size and then return the original for a refund of that order, which was fine.
I’ve been looking into something that can tell me my sleep patterns accurately. My Garmin watch would sometimes think I started sleeping at 9pm when I really started sleeping at 11pm.
Do I have to pay a subscription to unlock sleep pattern info?
It sounds like this product is DOA if you don’t buy a subscription. I suppose another better questions is what features do you get if you don’t buy a subscription?
Oura will give you current day scores only without the subscription (once the one-month complimentary subscription lapses). The scores don’t have supporting data in the app. So without the subscription I’d know I had a “Sleep Score” of 74 but not that I got 5h 53m of sleep from 9:59pm-5:18am with lowest heart rate of 67 bpm.
