UPDATE: This is my fault. When collapsing into the chair like a tired farmhand, one is smacked. But when sitting down like a normal person, it’s fine.

Do not buy these if you are short!
On the backwards return from each forward glide, the horizontal bar just below the seat fabric slams into the back of my calves.
I can’t use this until I install baby bumpers or a pool noodle.
My husband loves it - 100%. He’s almost 6’ tall. I’m 5 feet, 2 & 3/4 inches tall.
I wish I’d had the opportunity to sit on them first. I would have purchased just one.

I’m sorry you’re having a problem - I’m about 5’2" as well, and just got it put together today. Love it! Haven’t had any such problem. It DID take a couple of hours to put together, though - my eyes are crossed from paying such close attention to the diagrams!
Well, I realized if I gently sit down in it like my mother taught me (a lady), it doesn’t bang my legs.
But if I plop down in exhaustion, like my true self, my calves get whacked.
