Gaming? Can that GPU beat the latest iGPUs?
Do not buy this for gaming, Period.
The Vega 3 iGPU is going to limit you to game at very low settings and only in very few games, others would be unplayable. Even if you add a better GPU, the 2 core 4 thread CPU is going to limit the GPU potential. Yes, adding a better GPU will allow you to game but then you will have to replace the CPU to get the true potential of the GPU. As for everything else, this is a very decent everyday PC and even Media PC.
Replacing the CPU and adding a GPU would be an additional $500 to make this an actual gaming PC (a 3600x CPU for $150 [it may not support a 5600x for $200], thats 6 cores, 12 threads and minimum of an AMD 6600XT ($330+) or NVIDIA 1660 ($320+).
Currently that similar combination on a prebuilt PC goes for $1200, so you could still be saving $100-200 if you buy this and add the GPU and CPU.
Still, this PC alone is not a gaming PC.
What makes this a gaming PC? The LEDs? Because you’re going to struggle to run anything more demanding than Solitaire on this.
No. This is a pretty poor excuse for a “budget” prebuilt product. Hardware like this need to be responsibly dismantled and recycled instead of being peddled to consumers looking to save some money but are ultimately disappointed in the end.
Oof. This is a nightmare bad deal. Calling this a “gaming” PC might as well be a scam. It will work for basic web browsing and playing games that have been out for 10+ years on low settings. That’s it.
