Almost 40 years after the FTC started suing companies for lying about these things being effective, they’re somehow still for sale. These don’t work. They’ve never worked. Don’t waste your money.

No functional basis for either ultrasonics or electromagnetics to claim any significant protection from pests. Humanity loses incredible amounts of food, blood, resources to pests - if any of these DID work, we would see effective devices in use EVERYWHERE, no unsubstantiated “commercials” necessary.
To be honest, the closest we come to a “universal” solution has nasty side-effects due to induced radiation… which will never be acceptable until our “pests” include zombies.

I got 2 of these a year ago.
It was odd, I was sent them by a seller on Amazon and they were free, but they asked for a review.
So, I put one in my wellhouse which isn’t all that large of a building, maybe 5’ x 6’ x 6’.
A few months later I was wondering if any bugs were there, a spider built a web right in front of it and enjoying the vibes it gave off I guess.
I gave it a 1 star review, it did not work.
I admit I tried ultrasonic pest repellers when they first came out for bugs (nothing larger) in my house. Similar to @daveinwarshington’s experience, they seemed to really like the thing. I think it’s the warmth that attracts them to make their home inside it (until you move it, then they scatter).
9 or 10 years ago, I thought, “They couldn’t be selling these things now if they hadn’t improved them considerably.”
I thought wrong.

Bought them from Costco years ago. Plugged it in wall. They emit blue light with little buzzing sound that’s about it. Yes have see several pests around it. But I did fell for it as it was sold by Costco.
