My dog actually loves this. I washed and dried it before using and it seems like it will hold up well. It’s all soft felt but it’s decent quality. The one thing is that it does bunch up easily because it’s lightweight but not really that big of a deal. It’s a great option for those colder or lower activity days as it is fun and it burns up some energy. I feed him the kibble part of his dinner on the mat - some reviews say it takes a long time to prepare it, but honestly it only takes a minute or two.
Overall, decent for the price. Your dog will thank you.
I love this kind of snuffle mat because it’s easy to wash and throw in the dryer. They suggest handwashing, but I have 0 problems machine washing it. I wash it by itself or with some pet blankets as needed on the delicates cycle. If your washer is too rough, you can buy an XL mesh delicates bag for cheap and then put this in the bag.
One of my dogs is easily bored and is a little pig when it comes to food. This snuffle mat actually takes her at least 10 minutes to solve. Smaller snuffle mats (like the round ones with just the fake/felt “grass”) she masters in 2 minutes, but these larger ones always take her more time to figure out.
I buy a high-quality kibble and put her “dinner” in this mat so it takes her longer to eat. Pro tip: if your dog is highly food motivated, buy a nice kibble that you only give as treats or for special activities. Your dog will think it’s a treat but it’s cheaper than buying lots of treats. I usually buy some freeze-dried meaty treats and mix them in with the kibble before hiding them throughout the snuffle mat.
