this is a good price for it, and the reviews are good, but for some reason i dont want it lol.
When the FUDGE are companies/people gonna realize that iPod is a joke, and what will sell home theatres to people that aren’t SOFA KING WE TODD ID is Divx playback capability, not iCrappyMP3Player connectivity.
i was thinking about getting a soundbar…but is it good for gaming ?
Yeah what the heck I am in for one. Been wanting a soundbar and it is a great price.
ahhhhhh so tempting… maybe woot might have a better deal in the woot off. ill wait >_>
refurbished.
Refurbished is what I am concerned with. I’d buy but I don’t want to deal with potentially busted up parts or cheap replacements for expensive audio components. I’m handy with a soldering gun, but I doubt those sort of repairs constitute refurbished…
Oops, we didn’t make that connection? That’s a manufacturer fix. Oops, the shipper kicked in the polyfluoroexpensiveacousticallydesigned membrane? Thaaat’ll be refurbished.

True, if that square trade warranty was available for it then I’d consider getting it (or am I missing it somewhere?).

no square trade warranty =/
I’m guess I’m dumb, the wording is throwing me off. Does it work with the 2nd gen iPhone 100%? I have problems getting things to work with my phone. Sometimes it will charge but no audio or other way around. The video/photo would be cool with my phone also.

philips is known to have one of the worst customer support ever. google them and look at the blogs.
Even more than my refurbished comment above, this seems limited and mediocre as far as compact home-theatre and stereo stuff goes. After researching, probably wouldn’t buy it new.
Mediocre features, pretty good response, naaah
that’s my uhh, 10 cents

+1
I will NEVER buy Philips again, after the stereo, surround sound, and even TV antenna trouble I’ve had with Philips products. All show, no go.
I only paid a bit more than this for my Boston Acoustics sound bar system with wireless sub … can’t say how the sound compares to this one, but I’m very happy with it. The point of a sound bar is to provide full sound without the hassles (wires, controls, etc.) of a surround system. But if you want surround sound, buy a surround system.
We bought this new about a year ago, and it’s great. Excellent sound quality without having to drill holes in your wall or buy speaker wire, and it upconverts to 1080p nicely.
The ipod dock is my personal fave, and yes, it plays music from my iPhone 3G with ease. You just have to turn the iPhone to airplane mode so you don’t get the feedback.
We paid more than this when it was new, so it’s a good deal. Get one!
