If you buy this be sure to clean it very very regularly as the ‘carbon filter’ doesn’t do much and the flow just goes over the top of the filter. It’s really hard to get contaminated water out if it gets dirty too because it recycles and mixes all the water and a ton of cracks and crevices. I would just stick to a water bowl after having this machine for a few years. I’m pretty sure the recycling feature and the subpar filter made my pet sick on multiple occasions.
I have two of these. The first one was purchased at a yard sale, and my cats like it so well that I purchased a second one for another location. I can see how someone might be concerned about the sterility of it, but we have never had an issue. Extra filters can be purchased.
I agree. We had one given to us several years ago and finally had to replace the pump, did it with a USB powered one. Only cleaning issue we’ve had is the mineral buildup from the Texas water. The easy cure is if you have time is white vinegar, otherwise Lime Away or the like.
