It’s a pity they’re combined. I already have a nailer and a stapler. I would’ve jumped at the compressor pretty fast.
Time to learn all about the warranty
Check out the product page for the compressor
They are going to be practically giving away stuff like this come Black Friday. Do yourself a favor and wait. Read all about the warranties with Conan while you wait.
I can’t speak to this particular combo, but I literally just finished the trim in a room last night and an air nailer and mini compressor was wonderful to have.
Just make sure you adjust the psi properly on the tank first. It only takes about 55-60psi for a 2.5" nail to go through typical 1/2" trim and 1/2" drywall into a stud.
I’m old. When I learned about compressors for air tools, I was taught to use a compressor that put oil into the compressed air to oil my tools, or I would have to oil my tools every time I use them.
On the other hand, paint sprayers must get oil free air. Thus for a paint sprayer you need either an oilless compressor, or a good oil trap.
Here I see an oilless compressor offered with nail guns. I thought nail guns needed oil.
Have things changed?
why on features is the warranty listed under black and decker? do they service porter-cables equipment?

Not so much. The there are definitely still tools being sold that require the oil-lube compressors. However, most do not.
Oil-less compressors don’t require as much effort to maintain as the oil-lube. The oil-less compressors won’t last as long (actual life varies). Many contractors use oil-less and just have them re-built every 3-4 years. Oil-less compressors are also louder.
For the typical home owner this compressor is more than enough and with these two tools the price is phenominal.

Because Black & Decker (more appropriately Stanley Black & Decker as they’ve merged) owns Porter Cable. Not to mention DeWalt and a slew of other brands.
I’ve never had a compressor but have been interested. Can a single compressor operate nailers, paint sprayers and do car tire inflation (not at the same time)? If so, can THIS compressor do all that?
Thank you for any replies.

Yes. No.
This little compressor is fine for light nailing and tire inflating duties. When you get into higher air flows like roof nailing would require or painting, the little pump on this compressor will be inadequate. You would want a higher SCFM than 2.6.
And here’s one for the copy editors:
“2 regulated, factor-installed air couplers; easily supports 2 users”
Should probably read “…FACTORY-installed…”
If not, I want to know what “factor-installed” means.
This is definitely a light duty compressor. Perfect for a nailer, but much more CFM requirement and it will be running constantly to try and keep up.
Here’s a list of tools and the CFM used:

I have a compressor like this, it works perfectly well for Framing and Roof nailing with only 1 user. For finish nailing, it would be fine with 2 users.
Mine is 10 years old and I just built an entire house with it. It’s been great for me. Otherwise I only use it for hobby work.

I haven’t seen anyone mention in-line oiler attachments. I’ve always used one for the nailers, etc. and just switch to the “dry” hose for other stuff. Add a permanent tail of hose with a connector on the tool itself to give some relief for the weight of the oiler which is on the end of the main hose.
I installed 1,100sf of hardwood flooring with a stapler (not this style) and compressor. It is technically easy although backbreaking work. Saved a ton of money plus I ran thick speaker wire through my subfloor from the family room to the dining room.
4 & 5 star reviews at the mothership for the new version of this kit: (today’s Woot is priced about 1/3 off the new Amazon price)

If you want to learn a bit more about nailers - homeowner perspective: (from my absolute favorite magazine)
If you’re really particular about the features pros want:
I have this same compressor (well technically the prior model which is nearly identical but has cosmetic differences) which I also bought refurbished. My particular kit came with three guns rather than the two offered here, and was slightly less expensive… but hey - inflation. (It was a few years ago)
What can I say - it works well and hasn’t given me any troubles. I don’t use the compressor all that often as I have a larger stationary unit in the garage that is used most of the time, but when I need to take a compressor in the house or to another location this is the one I grab.
It can operate nailguns well - mine came with a brad nailer, finish nailer, and narrow crown stapler all of which are great. I have also used it with my framing nailer and again it works great. Of course as it is small it cycles more often than a larger compressor, and it is on the loud side, but for smaller jobs it gets it done.
Yes you can air up basketballs or car tires with this, but keep in mind since there is such a small tank it will run pretty much the entire time you are airing up your tire.
What you cannot use this compressor for would be rotary tools such as impact wrenches, die grinders, or drills. Yes technically they will run, but the compressor will need to cycle on and won’t be able to keep up, which means the motor will get hot and you will shorten the life of the compressor. If you need to use rotary tools… look for a much larger unit.
Anyway, I’m happy with my kit, and I’ve had no problems. Porter Cable make nice nailguns - and thus far they have stood up to the reputation.
Ok I don’t own this setup but have noticed when doing a quick search for what you get in this deal that both guns seem to have very similar problems with not shooting out nails. Could be why this is a factory reconditioned setup. Gonna pass on based on that. Tank alone set for this total package though. ![]()
