Post Mongering 10/12/23

Today is the fifth anniversary of the absolute worst day in my life. So coming home to one box I knew about and a second box that I didn’t know about was a bit of a cheer-up. Discovering that the second box was my Box o’ DDC made me smile, esp as I opened it and could “hear” what the Momma’s comment for each item would’ve been.

Morgan enlisted the assistance of Mum-made Franklin Valentine Redbear (yes, FVR) to show off the loot.

1 box of 100 Nitrile gloves, size Lg. Not junky, quite useful for artsing and cleaning coins.
Mums would’ve thought them a decent thing due to potential usefulness.

1 book The Appeal, a murder mystery with fifteen suspects. While I’m not a huge mystery reader, I do like reading and will read almost any genre, so this will be fun. Also not junky.
Mums didn’t read books, but she’d like it for my sake.

1 iPhone leather wallet which I probably won’t use since it doesn’t appear to be scan-proof. Not junky though.
Mums would’ve asked, “Would this make a nice gift for oldest son?”

1 Honeywell wireless door/window contact. Not sure if this needs a service or if it’s just an audible alarm. Regardless, not really junky.
Mums–“What can we do with that thing?”

1 BT wireless mouse. Might use this with the LapMac as I’ve been told it’s good to switch between trackpadding and mousing. Def’ not junky.
Mums–“Another gift for oldest son?”

1 wireless headphones that Morgan is modeling and thinks he’s going to get to keep. I’ve news for him, he isn’t. He can’t hear since he has no eardrums and is full of cotton. So I’m confiscating these. What with my hearing aids, earbuds aren’t useful. These are. Big happy score!! So not junky!!!
Mums would’ve acknowledged that this is a Good Item and worth whatever this box cost.

A question though–does anyone recognize what brand these are? And possibly what model, even? I’d like to download the owner’s manual for it. I suspect I also need the charging cable for it, too. The random cable is an old 3.5mm plug on each end, so not a charging cable. Regardless, very pleased with my “big” item! Thanks @davejlives !!

Morgan refused to wear either shirt, so FVR invited his family to model them. Mrs Eleanor Redbear is wearing the Mom shirt that should actually fit the SiL with the boys. Score! Not junky! Frankie Jr is wearing Fifth Grade, although I’m not sure he’s in Fifth Gr. All my nefs & nieces are well past then, so it’ll probably end up in a Mystery Box for next year’s Con. Not junky.
Mums would agree the Mom shirt is perfect for SiL. And she probably would’ve known someone with a grandkid in fifth grade.

When I removed the second shirt, I discovered one more item–

NO FREAKIN’ WAY!!
Suspecting it was an empty box, I picked it up and it had weight. HOLY (NAUGHTY WORD SAID W/ SOME EMPHASIS)!!!

I’ve actually wanted one of these for the hot Band concerts and Jazz gigs through the summer. OH. MY. GOSH.!!! This is so Not Junky that I don’t even have a word for how incredibly awesomely fantastic marvelous it is!
Mums would’ve claimed this for herself. And I would’ve given it to her. You do those types of things for the Momma.

Wow! WOW!!! Thank you so much @davejlives ! I was happy with the headphones, and then BAMMO! an even better Big Item!! I’d hug you if you bathe first. I’m def’ sending you a v-hug though!!

Wow. Oh my gosh. Wow. Wow. Dayam. Wow.

This is very VERY definitely the second-best DDC I’ve ever received (the first being, of course, The Bucket) Dave, you claimed these would be junky junk, junkier than usual. This is so the opposite of junkier junky junk. Thank you. THANK you!! :purple_heart: :purple_heart: :purple_heart: :purple_heart: :sparkling_heart: :purple_heart: :purple_heart: :purple_heart: :purple_heart:

And thank you for perfect timing. My black day has ended with goodness.
