I bought this from woot five years ago. Still using it almost every day. Great deal if you have limited space and need a variety of weights.
Hi there, are these expandable beyond 50lbs?
[MOD: this set is not expandable beyond the 50 lbs. ]
found them here PowerBlock EXP Expansion Kits | PowerBlock Adjustable Dumbbells with stage 2 50-70lb, and stage 3 70-90 for A HUNDRED AND EIGTHY NINE DOLLARS EACH STAGE… its just the metal plates, with the bars across. I have the 5-50 and like them, but dayum, thats way to much for just adding the extra weights.
Can anyone tell me how these are different from the other set recently on Woot? They were the ones with red on the side.
That one had increments of 5 lbs.
This one is 2.5 lbs.
I bought these last time they were on sale. They’re extremely good with a couple obvious limitations (They aren’t normal dumbbells, so moves like Pull overs and triceps extensions are a little awkward.)
Been using them as much as I can and they can really pull together a home gym. Plus the 2.5 pound increments means they can be as light as you want. Easy to switch weight, and what feels like good construction really helps.
If you’re motivated, these are an easy recommendation. Now go get Swole!
Can someone tell me the total weight included? I’d like to be able to have 2 x 50 lbs at a time (50 per hand)
I can’t decide from the description if it includes 100 lbs (50 per handle) or 50 lbs total (25 per handle)
It is a lot if you look at it as just adding a couple of plates. But, what you’re getting is the equivalent of dumbbells from 50-70 in 2.5lb increments. So, when comparing to buying individual weights it’s not horrible. They also take up almost no additional space. I bought the 90lb set 5yrs ago for $550 which was definitely better then buying the expansion sets individually.
EDIT: This specific set on Woot is not expandable. It looks the same as the set I have, but is different.
I wanted to get these but I wanted to check the shipping price first. It doesn’t seem to let me see it until I give a CC info.
You normally enter your payment information when you see your total, including tax and shipping. Who made the UX decision to ask the user payment information before everything else!? It only makes this website look shady…
Hi there. We have a flat shipping fee of $6 per order so you can stuff as much as you want in your cart and it ships for $6.
UNLESS you have Amazon Prime. Then use Login with Amazon and shipping is free.
As to companies doing the shipping later, a TON do it. I compare prices here a lot and many wait until the last step. They have to wait until your address is entered in many cases.
Per the features:
The Personal Trainer Set allows the user to achieve every 2.5 lb jump within the weight range of 2.5-50 lbs per dumbbell. Set comes with 2 dumbbells total.
Thanks, but that’s still ambiguous to me. It seems like 2 dumbells where each could get to 50 lbs, but not both at once.

We’re shipping two dumbells (separate boxes) that are 50 lbs each.

Where do you find the patience? ![]()
Yes, thank you for the patience. The shipping weight I also saw as 50lbs, which was the main source of my confusion as well. Thank you for the clarification.

$199 at wal mart
Gonna need to see a link there friend.
How big is the space to put your hands? I’ve got big old meat-hook hands, curious whether these would be comfortable to grip.
