Pressure Cookers

Is the height on the Kuhn Rikon 30331 pressure cooker 6" and the diameter 11"?

Yes, it is 11" in diameter.

The model numbers don’t match the descriptions. The 3342 is a 5 qt model and the 3344 is a 7 qt model. They are listed the other way. Which one do I order to get the 7 qt pressure cooker; the one described as a 7qt cooker or the one with the model number for a 7 qt cooker?

I really wish when cookware comes up for sale it would be a “standard” that specs include compatibility with induction stoves.

I don’t think these with the “aluminum sammich” bottom will work on an induction cooktop…

I believe you’re right. I’m checking with the team. I’ll update here when I hear back.

Is there a particular reason that only the 6-qt stockpot pressure cooker has the full 10 year Kuhn Rikon warranty, and the others only have a 90-day warranty? Are they still brand new?

Yes, they are new. We list the warranty given to us by the vendor.

Why are the measurements for the 7qt Kuhn Rikon 3918 different from what they list on the Kuhn Rikon site?

Ruh-roh. Let me check with the team.

UPDATE: Wrong image. It’s fixed.

Induction is still really, really rare in homes (One cooking site did a survey and found about 5% of their readers used one so it’s likely even lower for the general populace that doesn’t read cooking sites) so it’s probably still going to be more up to the owner to know what materials and constructions work for a while.

The aluminum is inside steel on both sides and All Clad states that their pans with that kind of setup work on induction cooktops. I think the bigger concern would be that pressure cookers behave a little differently on induction due to the faster coming up to pressure so recipes need to be adjusted.

Great question! I’m ready to pull the trigger, but I want to make sure I’m going to get the 7 Qt and not the 5 Qt.

Hopefully, we’ll get an answer soon…

Woot, get with it, please! Either fix the descriptions or tell us which one to buy in order to get the 7 quart cooker. Thanks.

Sorry for the delay, we’re waiting on an answer from the vendor.

thanks for the pointer
