If you’re going to be using this to pressure wash the sides of your house, you want gas, no doubt. If you aren’t sure, you probably want gas.
Yes, you can do damage with too much pressure, absolutely. But the great thing is that in many of them, you can dial the pressure down, and failing that, you can always stand farther away.
In general good pressure washer practice is to start very far away, and then only move close enough to start cleaning things off. Don’t start close and move back. Always keep a good amount of distance (12-18" minimum) between the sprayer and the thing you’re spraying.
Seriously considering a purchase of the small Ryobi. I realize it’s not enough to wash my wood frame two story house, but I should (I hope) do a good job of knocking down spider webs and dirt dauber nests outside, shouldn’t it?
Agreed refurb status is the difference between and ok deal and a great deal! I ordered this morning the Ryobi was a great deal being new, I find out tonight I am buying someone else’s former problem. No props here.
Same here ordered a “new” pressure washer as a great deal. Now I find out it’s just a good deal. I gonna say I probably would not have purchased if the listing said refurbished the whole time.
Hey all! If you ordered under the premise of these pressure washers being new, CS will be in touch soon with some options for you. Sorry for the mix-up!
People seem to underestimate the power of these things…Honestly there’s not much you can do in your house with the gas units that you can’t with the electrics. The main issue is that electrics have a bad reputation for reliability (not that cheapo gas ones are much better!), low GPM, and you can’t dial up the pressure when you need it.
With an electric similar to this, I have to turn down the power to not damage my fence, my vinyl siding, and the concrete around my house. For occasional use and using foam cannons for washing cars, the electric is a great deal. For larger buildings and more frequent use, go gas.

Thanks very much, I look forward to hearing what you propose. Accidents happen sometimes, we appreciate you acknowledging the issue and working to fix it.
I’m in the same boat having order what I thought was a new one and now it is a refurb. I guess we will see if customer service does get in touch with us and what they will do

I’m just the messenger, I have no other part in this. And I’d tell you what I assume will happen, but I know what they say about assume, and I wouldn’t want to speculate.

I also bought this as new, and now see it as refurbished on my orders page. I would have hoped that Woot would let us know about the change rather than having to discover it myself. Let’s just hope it’s in good condition when I receive it.
I also never realized these were refurbs. What a bummer! Additionally, did anyone order one of these and just receive an shipping confirmation today (7 days later)?! That lead time seems ridiculous to me.

We sent an email to those affected on 3/16 - those that purchased before we updated the condition. Shipping was delayed a bit to allow for that communication.
If you have any questions, please use the Support form linked at the top of the page to contact customer support for assistance.

I actually did do that and no one has contacted me yet. It’s been almost 3 days. Also, what is being done for customers like me that saw it as new and decided to buy it after the page was updated (unknowingly knowing the condition had changed)?

We are sorry to hear that! I’ve added you to my CS report. Also please be sure to check your spam folder as our emails sometimes get filtered out.

Anyone’s elses Ryboi show up in just garage kept and heavily used condition? This is BY FAR the worst thing i’ve ever bought on woot.

Mine has the wrong trigger handle as the one they sent does not fit the nozzle end. and it is very heavily used. There is a difference between refurb and heavily used. Disappointing and can’t even use it.
