Before buying a pressure washer, it is advised to make sure you can actually produce ample water from your hose. A 5 gallon per minute pressure washer isn’t going to do much if your water pressure can only deliver 1 gallon per minute.
Yes, you can do damage, but your siding should be alright. A good rule of thumb is asking “does it move”? If yes, an electric pressure washer is the way to go. Good for patio furniture, cars, toys, etc. If your answer is no, go gas. Doesn’t mean you can’t clean a house or concrete with electric, but it just takes longer. Don’t get too close to anything with the nozzle, that’s how damage happens.
Ordered a refurbished one last time they were onot Woot. Mine arrived damaged as it wasn’t packaged properly for shipping. Woot was great with return. They sent me a prepaid shipping label and FedEx picked up from front door. Full refund. #my2cents
no.
It will clean siding, but you’ll have to be close and it will be time consuming. I’ve owned both and you can live with an electric, until you try a gas washer.
agreed, I believe pump damage is guaranteed if you can’t deliver 5gpm to a 5gpm washer. I would definitely time how long to fill a 5 gal bucket with my hose before ordering.
I’d also like to note that from what I’ve been able to figure out in just doing a little bit of research based on this sale, the “ZR” in the Ryobi’s model number means that it is not new it is in-fact reconditioned. As is evidenced by Home Depot and Amazon
Yes, there is such thing as too much pressure. You can do a lot of damage if you do not know what you are doing. Although, 3,000 psi is not too powerful. Use the right tio and do not get too close to the surface that you are cleaning.
I’ve realized the same thing, and the reviews for factory reconditioned units in a good bit of places for these have been terrible. I was really looking forward to another pressure washer sale as I missed the last one
I ordered the PowerStroke ZRPS80544 the last time it was offered. It arrived in excellent condition, although packaging wasn’t great. I have used it once so far and it seems to be a good choice.
I would say buying a refurb’d pressure washer is hit or miss. The unit only has two components, the engine and the pump. Engines have fuel problems and pumps crack. good to take a moment to investigate how much a replacement pump costs, they’re surprisingly expensive.
Gas washers are different animals as they require care. You have to drain them when you’re done, and run them dry to store them. I store mine indoors drained of fuel and fogged.
Power washers tend to not be used every couple of weeks so they’re prone to gas storage issues, and if they freeze you crack the pump. if you run them without relieving the pressure for more than a few minutes you can damage the pump. so jobs tend to take a little thought. I’ve had good success with my refurbed gas washer from woot.
I would pass on these since pressure washers tend to be trouble prone. If you buy online and put gas in it you cannot return it. After reading numerous reviews on Amazon I have learned you are better off to buy locally so it can be returned or repaired.
