I just used the app to buy something and I didn’t have any trouble getting the 10% discount. Check the suggestions above from Pepper for a few things you might have overlooked.
Also, the discount only shows up on the final checkout screen - the same one that asks if you have a coupon/discount code.
Oops. I remembered when I was out and about, and completely forgot upon arriving at home about the 10% off.

Emailed CS to credit me for 10% app discount last night. They refunded within a few hours. Yay.
