The sole on these is a little ticker, has a cushy, rubbery feeling. I’m assuming that’s where the rubber portion is referring to.

I have some of the same construction black socks and I get athletes foot every time I use them. Cotton is the only way to go if you plan to do anything that may cause sweating in your socks.
