SmartPost is more expensive and (theoretically) faster than straight USPS. However, I don’t know the exact service level name at USPS that’s compared to. Certainly they have upgraded modes that’d be faster still.

We have indeed considered shipping options and I believe that in the long run we’ll go there. It’s mostly a design/strategy discussion at woot between “keep it simple, this is impulse buying anyways” and “when we’re selling stuff people really want bad, they’ll appreciate the option”

But it was because I read that that I posted, not just a personal mind experiment. I’m not saying a volume discount is impossible just musing.
