This is by far the cheapest I’ve ever seen this. Not that I have a need for audio classes. Definitely a lot cheaper than bose or the new sound core frames

Do these come in a style other than Buddy Holly Retro?

Can you confirm which design is being sold? The round or rectangular one?

I have a large head, these for well. Sound is great for the price. Buy two, leave one in shades mode and the other in clear mode.

Two options only

Small round
Large round

A few years ago, I came to value bone-conducting earbuds/headphones for my daily walks in the neighborhood (so I could listen for dogs, cars, or people) and thought that maybe a sunglasses + Bluetooth audio combo device would be a good replacement to listen to my podcasts. I’ve probably tried a half-dozen of these devices, from cheap no-name pairs to the Echo Frames and, to me, they’re all inferior to my old bone-conducting Aftershokz ones. I’ve returned (or given away) most of the ones I’ve tried, but the least inferior one I’ve found so far is the Soundcore Frames (by Anker, I think). They’re relatively lightweight, battery life is good (unlike the Echo Frames which I found needed to be recharged about every 2 or 3 days), and the arms aren’t beefy like these Razer Anzu ones (and I think Bose Frames, too) are. An upside to the Soundcore ones I like is their swappable lenses; I just ordered the blue-light filtering lenses so I can use them at my desk or if I walk when it’s dark or raining out. All that said, if you listen to music, none of these kinds of devices may be suitable for you.

If I can’t get prescription lenses, much less point in buying these (tho turns out Razer has a connection to a source for 'scrip lenses). Wouldn’t be as much for music as for audibly doom-scrolling thru the news, NPR, podcasts, etc. And the five-hour battery life would have me tethered to a battery pack…

Opticians can generally make lenses for nearly any frame.
I have provided frames and they did not sell.

The large in this style seems rather huge.
The small looks sorta feminine.

There’s a link in the post to the Razer info page, which talks about prescription lens options…

But that also says there are two different frames available.

Just thinking thru how I will be using this, and realized - if you have the sunglasses lenses (polarized) in place, you won’t be able to SEE your phone screen (ALSO polarized) to choose numbers to call, or pick songs from lists, etc. Going to have to cozy up to Alexa (etc).

So can only Razer’s partner company provide prescription lenses?

Misleading to have 4 of the pictures showing RECTANGLE frames and only 3 showing the actual ROUND frames being sold here.

A friend of mine works for a government contractor and recently they updated that they couldn’t wear earbuds for the safety reasons (not being able to hear machinery, forklifts, etc)- many of the individuals working there have switched to the bone conducting sets and everyone seems to be happy

Thank you mod - I haven’t figured out how to shorten them up myself

My point was you very likely have options to have your prescription filled by local opticians. Which is important if you want bifocals or photochomic lenses (neither of which were offered via Razer).

Also, shop around. Some places have a fee to put their lenses in frames not purchased from them. My Costco charges $25, a private optical place down the street has no fee, but the prices are double for the lenses. Most places will also take lenses from your current eyeglasses, re-shape them (if the sizing works), and put them in your alt. frames.

If you do not need progressives, I would not pay over $100 for lenses, unless they are one of the Transitions, which darken in sunshine. Bifocals are also cheap and easy. Progressives have MANY different price levels. At Costco I bring my own frames and pay around $170 for Progressives with Transition lenses, including the $25 frame fee.

ALSO… These frame may be FSA/HSA eligible, the prescription lenses definitely are. Check with your insurance.
