Title says it’s an Android 5.0 system - specs say that it’s 4.2 (Jellybean). What’s up with that?
8GB phooey
I have one of these and its reason for being is to stream Pandora in the garage. For that purpose it works well enough. I find the screen difficult to read and I think it’s actually plastic. I don’t know which version of Android is on these but mine came with 5.0.
Bought a similar RCA tablet (Apollo) for a few dollars less a couple of months back. I have an iPad which I would prefer my grandchildren didn’t use, since they have a tendency to drop their tablets in the toilet. This was the perfect solution; it does everything a 6 year old needs and for the price if it ends up swimming with the fishes I won’t be stressing.
$35.99 on Amazon and 22% of the reviews give it 1 star for having a very short lifespan.
Hey mick66, do you have a link for the Amazon offer? I’d like to pass that along to the vendor. The only one I was able to find was more expensive.Thank you!
This appears to be the same one.
I have one of the 8" RCA tablets Woot had awhile back. Certainly not in the same category as the higher end tablets, but it works well and filled the role I needed it for. I wanted an inexpensive one to use outdoors and around the pool to control my outdoor sound system. It does just fine for that.
Probably a good choice for kids or any other application where you don’t need or want to risk an expensive unit.
Previous reviewer is correct. These exact same tablets are on Amazon for $35 and no cost 2 day shipping(for Prime). Don’t get too excited though. Nearly 1/4 of all Amazon reviews for this unit say it dies within a few weeks of purchase.
I’ve passed this information along to the right people. I’ll keep you posted with any updates.
Happy Wooting!
