Yes, the battery is included. It is tested and replaced if needed.
Does this camera have the Motion warning feature?
It has Motion Activated Alerts. Is that what you mean?

I have 2 battery stickup cams and the motion alert feature, which informs the person being detected that they’re being recorded is disabled. If you want that feature, you have to purchase the wired version stickup cam

You will need to buy a subscription plan to access all features (motion recording). Without the plan, you can only view events in real time. It’s 3.99 per month for one camera, for 9.99 per month you can access recording for as many cameras as you want. You get a discount if you buy the subscription for a year at a time vs. monthly.

You CANNOT mount them upside down. Ring does not allow you to flip the video, so if you mount it upside down, your picture will be upside down. I presume this is because they are only weather proof when standing up. Just keep that in mind because it means you can’t mount it upside down in a window or door frame.
Ordered plugin model, but I received one that uses the battery. Common issue?
You’ll have to get one of these mounting brackets to mount on a ceiling or under the top of a door/window frame.

I think the Gen 2 came with this type of mount, but not the 3.
