I just bought the Eufy Dual Camera wired version doorbell for $99.00. It has a 2k normal camera and the second camera aims low to see any packages that are left. It has face and package detection. Most importantly, it has free local storage. So I don’t have to pay $3.00 a month. It will pay for itself in 30 months. I just hope it lasts. Ring Doorbells have a reputation for being reliable and durable. There are many better doorbells out there including newer Ring Doorbells, but at these prices, you could do worse. Just wish there wasn’t a monthly subscription fee.
Thanks for this. I have a refurb Ring doorbell 2 and pay the 3 bucks a month. So far so good but it’s getting dust behind the plastic covering the lens.
I like your 2 camera setup and the local storage. I’ll have to look into one like yours.
I think I have 7 ring cameras with annual billing plan. (first gen protect plus plan) That’s like $1.30 per month per camera. Just add a bunch more ring cams and it’ll get cheaper per device!
So…I spend more and save money? That’s brilliant! I like saving money!
I was also strongly considering the Aqara G4 doorbell. If wired, you can use up to a 512gb sd card located on the receiver inside your house and record 24/7! It also allows you to prerecord messages in different voices “robot”, “uncle”, and “clown” and set messages based on facial recognition of specific people. If not wired, it has a terrible battery life, some have reported that it’s motion detection needed work, and while it has a very wide viewing angle, the vertical angle is severely lacking. Since my doorbell was originally mounted low, I wouldn’t be able to get anyone’s face if they were close to my door. It also has free cloud storage along with being able to store footage on the sd or micro SD card. If you’re in the market for a new door bell, and these Ring Doorbells don’t win you over, YouTube is full of comparison videos.
Will do, Thanks!
I’m not sure which refob doorbell I got, but it’s 2 years old and still kicking good so far! The only issue we’ve had was with the battery going dead even though it’s wired into the house electricity (former doorbell), so losing wifi connection and not knowing why (until figuring out it was the dead battery). So we bought 2 batteries to do a charge ratation when needed. The old battery still works, just got 2 in case the original one was a bad battery. In response to everyone’s comment on paying for Ring billing, we went ahead and paid yearly instead of monthly because it was cheaper that way because all about saving money.
If anything I say doesn’t quite make sense, sorry I have a broken brain and do not always choose the right words.
I just received mine and it will not connect to wi-fi. it won’t enter setup mode. The battery has been charging for three days so that isn’t the issue.
