No longer letting people record doorbell activity if you don’t have a monthly plan. Moving on, and throwing out the RING app.

Ps. I have a 2 now that the microphone barely works and it would be great to get a working one with a second battery to boot?

No. There are plans that let you do that though.
Seems to be the strategy of all doorbell companies
