Rolling UnderSeat Carry-On

Rolling UnderSeat Carry-On

FWIW, I did my homework back in 2002 and purchased two pieces of Travelpro luggage (a carry-on & a large rolling suitcase) for a job where I averaged 8 flights per month. I kept this pace for 6 yrs. before changing to a position that reduced my travel to just half of that. This luggage has survived the worst TSA could dish out and, with the exception of scratches, these are the same pieces I use today. I can’t speak to how/if the quality has changed since my purchases, but Travelpro had always been touted for it’s high quality. I felt compelled to put in my 2 cents because these pieces have turned out to be my best purchases ever. I’m amazed at the quality & durability of the zippers, material, wheels & straps. Everyone has probably purchased a product, or brand, that has so impressed them as to make them want to tell others… this is one of mine.

Did you get black or a color?
I like the violet, but wonder if the black would wear better.
Thanks!

I bought both pieces in black, and am amazed at how good they still look.

Agreed. TravelPro is excellent. I don’t care for a roller for underwear (I prefer a small backpack), but this is still a little tempting. It’s also worth noting that flight crews usually use TravelPro. They hold up so well.

I’m glad you mentioned about flight crews using it. I thought I should have mentioned it in my initial post but didn’t know if it were still true. When I initially honed in on the brand this fact was a part of their advertising. And, like with cars for example, at least for me, I never realized or noticed there were so many of a particular model on the road until after buying mine. All of a sudden I was seeing them everywhere. Once I bought my luggage it seemed like every time I saw a pilot, flight engineer or flight crew personnel walking through the airport they all seemed to be using nice looking black Travelpro bags/luggage.

Just to add to this for anyone unfamiliar with the Travelpro brand - their ā€˜crew’ line is higher quality than their regular lines - google ā€œTravelpro Crew vs. Platinum vs. Maxliteā€ for more info.

Thanks for that info. As initially mentioned, I can’t speak to changes over the years since I’m still using my original purchases. I would hate for my comments to steer anyone wrong. I don’t recall any other Travelpro models available at the time of my purchase, other than what I bought. Of course that was a long time ago. I don’t remember the name of the store but know it was a dedicated luggage store. My buddy bought a ā€œlargeā€ Tumi suitcase there at the same time for an ungodly amount of money, $1,200 or so. He’s since had to replace it.

Walkabout 6 was a line created for and sold only at Macy’s.

FWIW- Macy’s entire stock of leftover Walkabout 6 luggage is on clearance as they are rolling out (pun intended) Walkabout 7.
