I picked up one of these the last time they were on Woot. It’s by far the best vacuum I’ve ever used. The new brush technology is wonderful; I don’t remember the last time I had to untangle hair. Yes I do—it was the vacuum before my DuoClean.
Highly recommended.
Prefer cordless over this
Lost me at refurbished. Buying someone else problem.
If it’s refurbed by Shark, it should be good. I’ve previously purchased several Shark refurb vacuums, and they look and work good as new for half the price. All came with new filters and were as clean as new vacuums.
I am even cheaper (more frugal?) - 'been using an old “classic” Shark NV-501 Professional, that white, lift away model, for several years. Curb find. Sure, sanitizing it was a chore, but not that difficult. Amazing vacuum. Light weight and really sucks. Now our two Dysons and a Miele canister model mostly sit, collecting dust - on top of them rather than inside.
The chief issue with Shark - their stuff is difficult to service since Shark does not sell parts. And they continue to make their vacs more difficult to disassemble. Luckily, I ended up finding a second identical “curb find” NV-501 for parts. So going with Shark, you gotta acknowledge, their vacuums tend to work really well, but might become throw-a-aways (vs “lift-aways”) if something breaks on them. (Ask any neighborhood vacuum repair shop what they think about repairing Shark vacs.)
Cordless is great for spot cleaning but they’ll never have the power of a plug in until you get to the 60-80 volt battery packs.
We have this model, purchased refurbished from woot. The outside was pretty rough but it vacuums like I’ve never vacuumed in my life. Gsmittle and I have had the same experience.
