Got one of these refurbed last time it was on Woot. Worked great for a few months and then the side brush seized up so it constantly thinks it’s running into an obstruction. Apparently this is a fairly common problem, so beware with the 90 day warranty.
Can you buy the Asurion plans for Woot purchases?
So it seems parts are not expensive? Yeah I am curious about one of these. I was at the local Dirt Cheap store and they had 2 in boxes that showed the original MSRP of $599. Of course they are selling it for 50% off. So even at their price, in an unknown working status, it makes the Woot price tempting.
I am wondering if I can do repairs myself like I have learned with Keurig coffee machines.
Or do I stay with the current $20 broom/dustpan combo and a little effort?
I know there has to be someone on here that does time & effort statistics.
I used to feel confident buying refurbished items on woot because they had actually been repaired and made “like new” by the manufacturer. Amazon’s version of refurbished is often just reboxing customer returns without inspecting or repairing defects. Buyer beware
I bought a refurb white one of these from the mother ship a while back and it works great. Bought 2 of these from from Woot recently, got one set up and the other still in the box. The one from Woot seems to have a different roller that gets tangled a lot more and the brushes are a lot softer than the other, so I suspect it was refusbished with cheaper aftermarket parts. Official replacement parts can be a little pricey, but at this price point it’s still less than what I paid for the first one even if you buy an OEM roller. Aside from that it gets the job done, and they all do really well with pet hair. Just make sure to check the filters often, some get dirty real quick, but you can wash pretty much all of them (I think there are 4 plus a few screens).
I got one the last time they had these and I’m pretty sure it was just the damaged box. Inside it appeared brand new including all the sticky clear protective coverings. It seems to get hung up more often than my roombas do and feels slightly less sturdy but it is worth it for the self emptying option. Mine turned out to be a good deal.
Got one a few months ago on Woot. Works great on hardwood and ok on carpet. Great at picking up tracked cat litter!! Really like it a lot
bought one last time they had only worked for about 1 month. Shark won’t do anything. waste of money
I bought one in a previous woot. It had a broken power wheel. They offered me $40 to fix myself, refund or wait for Shark to answer. Those wheels are not easy to find and are expensive. I choose wait, they sent a whole other refurb box. So now I have spare parts!
It has been running 5 days a week for 6 months. No issues. We have 4 cats and a large dog. It does a good job keeping the wood floors free of dirt and dust bunnies. You need to clean it and unclog it often though depending on level of work it’s doing. And it gets stuck on the simplest things easily so you must keep path clear.
Bottom line, we like it a lot and going forward will keep a robot vac running.
For future, yes. It was shown at the bottom of the features:

I just received mine yesterday, and it has been VERY well used. It was dirty and it spilled dirt over my floor when we removed it from the box. Got it all set up, tried to start it and the battery was dead. Put it back on the charger and got a “clean battery contacts” error. cleaned the contacts put it back on to charge. When it was all charged tried again to use it, it went about 3’ (unobstructed) and gave me a drop-off detected error. I live in a one level home, the only possible drop-off is 1/4" from my hardwood to tile. My old Roomba has never given me any trouble, but this one is a pain in the ass. I did a factory reboot, reinstalled and still getting drop-off error. Guess I will be returning it. I don’t think it was ever “reconditioned”.
Yuck. I’m so sorry. CS will help you out.
