Love mine and at this price it can’t be beat. I might get a second one for my mom.
However the mapping feature isn’t the greatest.
I like the shark products, however, I think the Samsung blows almost all the robots, including I robot away
Really good vacuums. I now have four shark robots, two smart, two dumb. Might pick up a third smart.
These have reduced my wife’s vacuuming obsession to almost zero. These work over time, they’re not perfect day to day, but when run daily(m-f) the house is remarkably clean.
I have two large doodles that don’t shed but they are filthy! The bin fills every week, but the dust filter really shows what’s going on, gets caked with dust every month.
The problem with these units is the suspension. The drive-wheel springs attach via a tiny plastic hook which is prone to break. You then have to replace the entire drive wheel unit (they will warranty but you have to ask).
I bought this model last time this was for sale. This replaced my senile Neato. It’s not very loud. The self emptying is a nice feature. It doesn’t gut stuck under thing like the Neato which required regular rescue missions The robot does a decent job except for edging. The little brushes are merely adequate. My dog hates the self emptying feature. Its startles her and she runs to back at it and protect us…
Overall, satisfied with the quality for the price.
I have this one. It is the only robot I’ve ever owned that did NOT get stuck on my geometric rugs. All of the others I’d tried would stop, thinking they were on a cliff.
Does this require 2.4 Hz wifi frequency? I currently have one SSID broadcasting on 5 and 2.4Hz, I’m wondering if I need to broadcast a 3rd (only 2.4Hz) just for this robot.
We have one, and it IS a pretty neat little device. But the mapping function straight up doesn’t work. Have you ever seen those pictures of what a spider web looks like when a spider is given cocaine? that’s what the map this thing generates looks like. Absolutely, 100% nonfunctional. So you really can’t set it up to say “Sharkbot, clean the kitchen” or what not. But if you are happy with it just doing it’s own thing and eventually getting there, it’s fine.
I have bought 2.Replaced 3 wheel assemblies so far due to the thin plastic housing on the wheel assembly. The spot where it connects to the spring. Easy enough to replace but they each cost me for $45-65 before shipping…
Thanks for the tip about the wheels. I’ll keep an eye on that.
I mention this whenever it comes up but I have never had trouble with my mapping. I believe there are issues because it’s a common complaint with these but my map is flawless.
I always wonder: the app makes it sound like once you accept a map that it will keep improving that map forever. It does NOT. I’ve had to map and remap a couple of times. Letting it map over a period until I was 100% satisfied with the map and only then accepting the map has worked for me. It definitely locks in once you do that.
Also I really want another of these because I bought a dumb for Roomba upstairs and I really want something with a map.
what part is it exactly? I imagine both sides break at the same time?
