SHARK Matrix Plus with Self-Empty HEPA Base

SHARK Matrix Plus with Self-Empty HEPA Base

Just finished running it through the house. It does a first relatively fast pass through all areas to map quickly, which I like compared to previous vacuums that sometimes took hours to develop a usable map.

Unfortunately, while everything included with it was in proper working order, the self-empty reservoir smelled strongly of poop! It looks completely clean and everything, but somebody must have sucked up a turd and left it in there to simmer before realizing the futility of cleanup and returning it.

Well that’s… let’s blame @davejlives for another smelly vaccum. He tries, but, well CS will have some options for you.

Mine arrived DOA, error code 2, side brush. Tried troubleshooting it and wasted an hour on youtube, no dice, sending it back. Bought another one earlier this year, battery died within a month which I changed, then it went kapoot a couple of months later, waste of money.

I received mine the other day, could barely tell it was a refurb - unit had a minor blemish underneath otherwise looked spotless as did the docking station.

Unit has been working like a beast with no issues - I have 4 large dogs which my prior vacuum would get hair tangled with every run.

Due to all the dog dander, I dont think I can go a month without emptying it, most likely 2 weeks which is better than every day

I received mine last week. It’s been great! Can’t tell by look or smell that it’s a refurb and I’ve been putting it to work. It’s has performed flawlessly and was super easy to set up! Thinking of buying a second to replace my aging upstairs Roomba!

Followup to my initial comment:

I made a batch of electrolyzed water using one of my EOW spray bottles and a pinch of salt, sprayed all the dust-handling components and let them sit for a while. This knocked out most of the poop smell. This vac is now running regularly, and my only complaint is the battery life seems a bit shorter than expected. I’ll probably replace the battery in a year or so.

I think I’m sold on Shark vacuums in general, for the very specific reason that they never seem to get tangled with hair, either pet or human. All of my other Ecovacs, Neato, Roomba, and Eufy vacuums (I’ve used quite a few) always needed to be serviced and de-haired frequently. The Sharks just shed collected hair into the self-empty bin like a champ, and the brushes generally remain hair-free like magic.
