Shark Robot Cleaning System S87 (Wi-Fi)

Shark Robot Cleaning System S87 (Wi-Fi)

It says it comes with one battery. Do both vacuums use the same battery??

Both devices come with batteries. I bought this in a previous Woot. Both devices have worked out pretty well so far.

How does this compare to the Roombas? We have a 960 for the main floor of our house, all hardwoods. We recently upgraded our upstairs hallway and bonus room to hardwoods as well but I’m wondering how good of a job this does and if it is worth it or if I should buy another Roomba. Not counting on needing it to clean carpet.

I had a 960 that would stop on my geometric area rugs, thinking it was a cliff. I got the Shark to replace it and love it. The Shark cleans just as well and never gets stuck on my rugs.

Is this a refurb?
Never mind…just saw “Factory Reconditioned”

Any other information? Were your units refurbs or new?

Can’t speak for the Roombas but I had a first gen Scooba and now have a 2nd gen. (I blew up the 1st one but over all, the 1st gen was better). All I can say is the iRobot Scooba beats the crap out of your furniture. Both models do the same thing. You would think when it bumps into a table leg or something, it would go around, nope… it backs up, hits it again, two or three times, then goes around, tries it one more time and gives up. I think I’ve burned through a couple of permanent brown markers since I’ve had the 2nd model.

I currently run a 9000 series Samsung on my top (all carpet and bathroom tile floors), main floor about 1800sq ft of hard wood, some area rugs has a DeeBot N79S which replaced a Neato Bot 80 (retired). Basement has a Neato XV21 (pet version) that was replaced by the Bot 80 and it’s still ticking. Think I’m on my 4th battery but to be fair, it’s pretty old. Does all carpet for about 1000sq ft. The CONS for the DeeBot is the itty bitty tank. Who every designed it must have forgotten the vac has to put the trash somewhere and the tank was a last minute after thought.

I had a ‘Robot Vacuum’ a while ago.
It tried to kill me a few times, sneaking around and trying to trip me.
A few times it followed me around making a growling sound.
I think it wanted total supremacy of power in our happy home as it took us all down one at a time.
Even having long discussions with it didn’t help at all.
It got down to: Me or ‘it’.
I shipped it back with pity for the person innocently purchasing this demonic now-refurbished vacuum from the deepest depths of hell.

I found this PC Mag review useful. Especially given that there verdict was pretty much “This this is awesome but too expensive”

I ordered 3 of these (named Alexander Hamilton, Aaron Burr, and Peggy Schuyler), connecting none to WiFi thus far, and am having trouble with one of the three. These are all refurbished units, has anyone else had problems with their robot vacuum not moving? I followed the troubleshooting steps, but one (Alexander Hamilton) just won’t move and keeps blinking Max.
